FAQ’s

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from our PA power washing customers.

  • What should we do to prepare for your service?
    • Check that all windows and doors are securely closed.
    • Make sure that your outside water is turned on and operational.
    • Remove any delicate decorations outside of the home so that nothing can be inadvertently damaged while we are moving them.
    • Remove any window screens so that we can properly clean and brush windows and sills.
    • Make sure that vehicles are parked back away from the house so that we can move freely around with hoses and the car will not receive any unnoticed soap spots.
    • Make sure that all pets, their dishes and toys are taken in during the cleaning process.
  • Does someone need to be home the day of the service?
    • No. It is never necessary to have someone home the day of the service.
    • In fact, we would prefer that you never schedule to take a day off from work to be home for the cleaning.
      • Sudden weather changes and additional work being added to earlier jobs can certainly cause disruptions in the schedule.
      • While we make every attempt to arrive at our jobs on time, every time, some things can be out of our control
    • If something unexpected were to cause us to have to reschedule for the following day, it would be a wasted vacation day that was taken by our customer.
    • If nobody is going to be home on the day of the service, I will simply make mutually acceptable payment arrangements with the customer long before the day of the cleaning.
  • Will the seals in my windows be damaged as a result of the cleaning?
    • Our cleaning process produces garden hose pressure against your siding, windows and doors. As long as you don’t have any pre-existing leaks, no damage will result from our cleaning.
  • Are your products plant and animal safe?
    • The concentration of cleaners and sanitizers that we use are just strong enough to kill and remove the micro organisms that are growing on your home’s surface, but not near strong enough to kill pants or shrubs. The sanitizer we use is often used in large drinking water treatment facilities to make your drinking water safe for you. Used in the proper amounts, it is completely safe.
  • I have well water. Can you still clean my house or will my well run dry?
    • Our cleaning process does not use exorbitant amounts of water. We bring buffer tanks full of water and only use the home owner’s water to top off our tanks during the process.
    • We clean homes with wells on a regular basis and have never run into a situation where the well we in danger of running low.
  • Can you clean the rust stains off of our home?
    • Absolutely! We have special chemicals that are designed just for the safe removal of rust stains from a variety of exterior surfaces.
    • While the surface will be rust free when we are finished, you will need to find and treat the source of the rust. The rust is coming from a metal surface that is rusted and depositing the red color on your home’s surface during rain storms. If the source of the rust is not addressed, the staining will return very quickly.
  • What is that white chalky appearance that I can see on my siding?
    • That appearance is caused by oxidation of the surface from the sun’s UV rays.
    • While our cleaning will still remove the algae, moss, mold and mildew that is growing on the surface, it will not do much to remove the oxidation.
  • Why can you see weird striping on siding sometimes after a company pressure washes a house?
    • Typically that is the end result of cleaning that was performed by a company that uses high pressure to clean. It is difficult to provide even, consistent cleaning when you are using high pressure alone.
    • Oxidized siding will leave heavy stripe marks when pressure is used to clean it.
  • Are you licensed and insured?
    • Yes, we are a PA Home Improvement Contractor.
      • The state of PA requires all contractors to have the proper licenses and insurance to receive the PA Home Improvement Contractor License.
      • It makes it easy from potential clients to ensure that they are hiring a contractor with the necessary coverages.
  • Do you offer any type of referral program?
    • Yes, we pay our clients for every job we receive as a result of their referral. It is generally 10% of the work that was referred to us
  • What are the benefits to cleaning your home?
    • Asthetics
    • Clean siding will last longer.
      • Algae and moss growth on siding will retain moisture much longer than clean siding. This extra exposure to moisture will eventually lead to a shortened life to you siding. It is like exposing your siding to a much more tropical zone. All surfaces have a reduced life span in tropical zones.
    • The curb appeal of your home is immediately improved!
    • Allergy sufferers will have a large source of pollen, mold, mildew and bacteria removed from their everyday interactions.
